From Stockholm and the area around Lake Mälaren we deliver to the Czech Republic and Slovakia in usually 2–3 days – by road through Denmark or by ferry across the Baltic, depending on the destination.
Four ways south from the Swedish capital
| Route | What it involves | When it makes sense |
|---|---|---|
| E4 and the bridges via Denmark | about 560 km on the E4 via Jönköping to Helsingborg, then Malmö, the Øresund Bridge, the Great Belt or the Rødby – Puttgarden ferry, Hamburg, Berlin, Dresden | for a late pick-up without waiting for a sailing; suits Prague and northern Bohemia |
| Trelleborg – Rostock | about 640 km through Sweden, crossing to Rostock, then via Berlin and Dresden | the most direct line into Bohemia, and the driver rests during the crossing |
| Nynäshamn – Gdańsk | only about an hour from central Stockholm to the port, overnight sailing, then south from Gdańsk on Poland's A1 | for the Ostrava region, Olomouc, Zlín and Slovakia – most of the way is on Polish motorways |
| Karlskrona – Gdynia | about 480 km on the E22 past Norrköping and Kalmar, crossing to Gdynia | when goods from Östergötland or Småland are picked up on the way |
By road, Brno is further from Stockholm than Prague; via Gdańsk, Moravia and Slovakia lie on a direct axis instead. Bridges, ferries, the Danish distance-based toll, German truck toll, Poland's e-TOLL and the Czech toll are all included in the price we quote.
What the Mälaren valley ships
- Södertälje – production of heavy trucks and engines, heavy engineering parts.
- Västerås – electrical engineering, power and automation equipment, cables.
- Eskilstuna – construction machinery and spare parts, a large logistics park on the E20.
- Uppsala – laboratory instruments and equipment for research and healthcare.
- Rosersberg and Märsta near Arlanda – retail distribution warehouses on the E4.
- Norrköping – the Händelö logistics area with its port, paper and packaging.
Swedish specifics we plan for
Stockholm charges a congestion tax for driving into the centre and on some bypass roads, foreign-registered vehicles included; it is built into our price. In winter conditions trucks must run on winter tyres, and snow and short days around Lake Mälaren are normal in January. Sweden is in the EU, and the krona does not change that – there is no customs duty. In Germany trucks over 7.5 t may not drive on Sundays and public holidays, so we choose a sailing that does not land the truck on a Saturday evening.
Heavy machinery and light electronics
Parts from Södertälje and construction machinery from Eskilstuna reach the payload of about 24 t before the floor is full, while switch cabinets from Västerås are tall and sensitive to shocks. A full trailer takes 33 euro pallets and 13.6 loading metres; single pallets travel by groupage.
How to request a Stockholm pick-up
Send the pick-up location, the delivery address, the number of pallets with dimensions and weight, and the day the goods are ready. If it is urgent, say so – that decides between road and the next sailing. You get a price within 30 minutes during office hours, and we usually arrange the vehicle within 24 hours of your confirmation.
