From Skåne to the Czech Republic a truck usually takes 2–3 days; from Malmö it is about 950 km to Prague and about 1,150 km to Brno. We collect in Malmö, Helsingborg, Lund, Landskrona or right at the ferry terminal in Trelleborg – full loads, part loads or just a few pallets as groupage.
Sweden's southern tip: warehouses, food and ports
- Helsingborg – one of Sweden's biggest warehouse locations. Retail and e-commerce distribution centres cluster here for the port and the short hop to Denmark; typical loads are mixed pallets of consumer goods.
- Malmö – the port, wholesalers and logistics estates along the city's ring road; food, packaging and building components.
- Lund and the Ideon science park – technology firms and laboratory instruments: small consignments, often sensitive to shocks.
- Landskrona – an industrial port and smaller factories shipping metal and engineering parts.
- Farming Skåne – Sweden's most fertile region: confectionery, bakery products, dairy, vegetables and apples from Österlen, some of it in a reefer.
Three ways south out of Skåne – which one fits
| Way | Route | Best for |
|---|---|---|
| Øresund Bridge and Denmark | Malmö – bridge to Copenhagen – Rødby–Puttgarden or Gedser–Rostock ferry, or across the Great Belt Bridge and Jutland | collections in Helsingborg or Malmö, departure not tied to one particular sailing |
| Trelleborg – Rostock / Sassnitz | overnight crossing to Germany, then via Berlin and Dresden onto the D8 | Prague and Bohemia; the driver rests on board |
| Trelleborg – Świnoujście | crossing to Poland, then the S3 expressway past Szczecin south to the Czech border | eastern Bohemia, Moravia and Slovakia – Germany is bypassed |
The Øresund Bridge toll, the ferry ticket, Denmark's distance-based truck toll and the tolls in Germany, Poland and the Czech Republic are all included in the price we quote. Germany also bans trucks over 7.5 t on Sundays and public holidays from 0:00 to 22:00, so we pick the crossing with that in mind.
Helsingborg as a consolidation point
Many Swedish suppliers send goods to a warehouse in Helsingborg first and ship to Europe from there. If you buy from several suppliers across Sweden, it often pays to have everything gathered in one warehouse in Helsingborg or Malmö and send a single truck from there. Swedish domestic combinations run up to 25.25 m long; the truck to the Czech Republic is a standard trailer with 13.6 loading metres, 33 euro pallets and about 24 t payload, so the quantity should be matched to that in advance.
What we need for a quote from Skåne
- Town and address of collection – Malmö, Helsingborg, Lund, Landskrona or Trelleborg.
- Number and size of pallets, weight and whether the goods can be stacked.
- Whether it is chilled food and what temperature it needs.
- The destination in the Czech Republic or Slovakia – that decides between the bridge, Rostock or Poland.
Sweden is in the EU, so goods travel without customs, with an invoice and a CMR consignment note. In office hours you get a price within 30 minutes, and we usually arrange the vehicle within 24 hours of confirmation.
