Sibiu, Sebeș and Mediaș form one of Romania's clusters of automotive suppliers. Brno is about 890 km away and Prague about 1,100 km, much of it on Romania's A1 motorway.

From Sibiu and southern Transylvania we move goods to the Czech Republic and Slovakia in usually 2–3 days; Brno is about 200 km closer than Prague.

The Sibiu – Sebeș – Mediaș triangle: parts out, racks back

Around Sibiu, in Sebeș and in Mediaș, many suppliers make wiring harnesses, plastic and metal parts, seat components and electronics for car plants. Their customers include plants in the Czech Republic and Slovakia – Mladá Boleslav, Kvasiny and Nošovice, Bratislava, Trnava, Žilina and Nitra. The parts travel in crates or dedicated racks that have to come back empty, otherwise the Romanian line runs out of packaging. So we plan both directions as one job:

  1. Pick-up on call-off – the truck arrives in the agreed slot and the goods run direct with no transhipment.
  2. Delivery at the plant – on time, with delivery note numbers and packaging counts on the CMR.
  3. Empties – folded racks and crates are loaded at the customer or at its packaging yard.
  4. Topping up – spare space on the way back to Romania is used for other cargo so the return leg does not run empty.
  5. Count check – returned items are confirmed so the packaging balance between supplier and plant adds up.

Other cargo from southern Transylvania

  • Sebeș – large sawmills and wood processing: sawn timber, beams and wood products for construction.
  • Sibiu – the industrial zone on the west side of the city, engineering parts and electronics.
  • Mediaș – vehicle wiring and components, metal goods.
  • Alba Iulia – engineering and warehouses along the A1.
  • Făgăraș – smaller loads from the Olt valley, combined with pick-ups in Sibiu or Brașov.

From Transylvania across Hungary to the Czech Republic

From Sibiu the truck takes the A1 via Sebeș and Deva to Arad and the Nădlac crossing, then the M43 and M5 to Budapest and the M1 towards Bratislava; goods for Brno continue on the D2. For northern Slovakia or the Ostrava region the route via Alba Iulia, Cluj and Oradea to the Borș crossing can be better. The Romanian rovinieta, the Hungarian HU-GO toll and the Slovak and Czech tolls are included in the price we quote. The Hungarian border has had no checks since 2025, and EU goods need no customs papers. In winter we allow for harder conditions on the hilly stretch between Sibiu and Deva, and for Hungary's weekend and holiday restrictions on trucks over 7.5 t.

Which vehicle from Sibiu

Racks and mesh boxes of parts are usually bulky and light, so loading metres decide. A full trailer offers 13.6 loading metres, 33 euro pallets and about 24 t payload; timber from Sebeș, on the other hand, hits the weight limit before the floor is full. Single pallets go by groupage, urgent parts by van.

What we need for a quote

Tell us where the goods are loaded, where they are going, how many pallets or racks there are and which packaging must come back. For regular call-offs, add the usual days and time slots. You get a price within 30 minutes during office hours, and we usually arrange the vehicle within 24 hours of your confirmation.

Frequently asked questions

How many days does a truck take from Sibiu to Mladá Boleslav?
Usually 2–3 days. Prague is about 1,100 km away and Mladá Boleslav is just beyond it, so with a morning pick-up the goods are typically at the plant on day three.
Will you bring empty racks from the car plant back to Sibiu?
Yes, we plan the return of packaging together with the parts delivery. Folded racks are loaded at the customer and delivered to the supplier in Sibiu, Sebeș or Mediaș.
Can you deliver parts from Sebeș within a fixed time window?
Yes, the truck runs direct with no transhipment and the delivery time is planned to the call-off. For truly critical deliveries we recommend a dedicated vehicle rather than groupage.
Does freight from Sibiu leave Romania via Nădlac or Borș?
For Brno, Bratislava and Prague usually via the A1 and Arad to Nădlac. For Žilina, Ostrava or eastern Slovakia the route via Cluj and Oradea to Borș can be shorter.
Can you carry sawn timber from the sawmill in Sebeș?
Yes, strapped bundles of timber or beams on a curtain-sider. Send the bundle sizes and weight, because timber often reaches the payload before the floor space.
Can Mediaș and Sibiu be loaded on one truck?
Yes, Mediaș is roughly an hour's drive north of Sibiu. We combine both pick-ups and the truck then joins the A1.
Are parts racks charged by pallet or by loading metre?
For bulky racks and mesh boxes, mainly loading metres and stackability count. Tell us the dimensions and how many can be stacked.
Is the Romanian road vignette included in the price?
Yes, the rovinieta plus the Hungarian, Slovak and Czech tolls are part of the quoted price.
Does winter make the run from Sibiu harder?
Between Sibiu and Deva the motorway crosses hilly terrain where snow is possible, and Romania requires equipment suited to winter conditions. For winter shipments with a fixed date we build in a buffer.
Do parts from Romania need customs clearance?
No, these are goods moving within the EU. A delivery note and CMR are enough, and we note the packaging counts on the CMR.
Can you unload part of a Sibiu load in Trnava and the rest in Brno?
Yes, Trnava and Bratislava lie on the route from Hungary to Brno. Two drops on one truck are something we plan regularly.
Will you take a single pallet from Alba Iulia?
Yes, by groupage. The pallet travels with other goods from the region, so transit is a little longer than with a dedicated vehicle.
Can you arrange a delivery from Sibiu if a plant's line is about to stop?
For urgent parts we arrange a dedicated van that runs without further stops. Contact us straight away with the location and the time the parts will be ready.
How far ahead should regular pick-ups in Sibiu be planned?
A few days' notice is enough for a fixed weekly plan; individual vehicles are then usually arranged within 24 hours of confirmation.
Do you deliver from Sibiu to Žilina or Nitra in Slovakia?
Yes, we deliver anywhere in Slovakia. Nitra is close to the route via Komárno, and Žilina is reached via Bratislava and Trenčín or by the northern route via Oradea.
