From Martin, Vrútky, Ružomberok and Liptovský Mikuláš a shipment reaches the Czech Republic within 1 day – and Brno is closer than Prague: about 230 km to Brno, about 430 km to Prague.
Turiec and Liptov: who makes what and how it is loaded
For Czech buyers, these two mountain valleys along the Váh mainly supply engineering parts, paper and packaging. Each kind of cargo needs a different trailer and different securing:
| Place | Typical goods | What matters at loading |
|---|---|---|
| Martin | parts for car plants, engineering assemblies, welded components | returnable racks and crates, side loading by crane or forklift |
| Vrútky | parts and components for rail vehicles, metalwork | long, heavy pieces, straps and timber bearers |
| Ružomberok | paper reels, cartons, packaging material | weight before volume, anti-slip mats, load distribution |
| Liptovský Mikuláš | engineering products, food and dairy from Liptov | for chilled goods a reefer trailer set to the right temperature |
| Dolný Kubín and Orava | semi-finished metal products, timber and wood products | high weight on a small area, check floor load capacity |
Paper reels from Ružomberok: heavy, round and sensitive at the edges
Paper is the opposite of light parts: the trailer is full by weight long before the floor is covered. Reels usually stand on end, with anti-slip mats between and under them, and straps hold the whole load. A damaged reel edge means a claim at the printer or the box plant, so we need the diameter, width and weight of each reel. With those we spread the load so that no axle is overloaded. Cartons and wrapping paper on pallets are counted the usual way – a full trailer takes 33 euro pallets.
Three ways from Turiec to Moravia and Bohemia
- To Ostrava and Frýdek-Místek – D1 to Žilina, then via Čadca and Svrčinovec to the Mosty u Jablunkova crossing and on through Třinec.
- To Wallachia and the Zlín region – from Žilina via Bytča and Makov to Horní Bečva, Rožnov pod Radhoštěm and Valašské Meziříčí.
- To Brno, the Hodonín area and Bohemia – D1 via Trenčín, then either through Drietoma and Starý Hrozenkov to Uherský Brod, or on the D1 and D2 via Bratislava and Lanžhot.
From Liptov the vehicle first follows the D1 down the Váh valley past Kraľovany to Martin and then takes one of these routes. Slovak and Czech electronic tolls are included in the price we quote. Both countries are in Schengen, and the goods travel without customs on a CMR and delivery note. In the Czech Republic vehicles over 7.5 t may not drive on Sundays and public holidays from 13:00 to 22:00.
Supplying the line and returning empties
Parts from Martin often go straight to the line – into the time slot set by goods-in at the Czech plant. We plan the collection so the vehicle makes that slot, and on the way back it can take empty racks and crates to the supplier. Smaller quantities for production travel in a van for roughly 5 to 10 pallets, single pallets go as groupage. We also deliver within Slovakia, for example to Bratislava, Nitra or Košice.
What to put in your enquiry
Loading point (Martin, Vrútky, Ružomberok…), delivery address, number of pallets or reels with their weight and, if relevant, the time the goods must be at goods-in. We send the price within 30 minutes in office hours, and on this short route we often arrange the vehicle the same or next day after confirmation.
