From Amsterdam and Utrecht your goods reach the Czech Republic in up to 2 days after collection; Prague is about 890 km from Amsterdam and Brno about 1,100 km. We pick up air cargo at Schiphol, pallets from warehouses in Almere and Nieuwegein and goods from plants in Zaanstad, and deliver anywhere in the Czech Republic and Slovakia.
Where loads start around Amsterdam and Utrecht
- Schiphol – one of Europe's largest cargo airports, ringed by handling agents' sheds and distribution centres for electronics and goods from Asia.
- Aalsmeer – the flower auction next to Schiphol; cut flowers and pot plants travel in a reefer.
- Zaandam and Zaanstad – cocoa processing and food plants; cocoa liquor, butter and powder on pallets or in sacks.
- Port of Amsterdam (Westpoort) – cocoa bean warehouses, break-bulk cargo and building materials.
- Almere – fast-growing e-commerce and wholesale logistics parks east of Amsterdam.
- Utrecht and Nieuwegein – the middle of the country, where wholesalers, consumer-goods makers and office suppliers keep their national warehouses.
Schiphol air cargo and zero-emission city centres – the practical list
- Air waybill (AWB) number and the name of the handling agent – we need both in advance; without them the shed will not release the shipment to the driver.
- Release – goods from outside the EU must be customs-cleared or moving under transit; the shipper's or consignee's customs agent handles that, we handle the collection.
- Dock appointment – Schiphol sheds release cargo by time slot, so we book the vehicle for a specific hour.
- Air cargo pallets differ in size from euro pallets and are often non-stackable – send the exact dimensions so the loading metres add up.
- Central Amsterdam and Utrecht – since 2025 both cities have zero-emission zones for goods vehicles and older diesel lorries may not enter; Amsterdam's historic centre is barely accessible to articulated trucks anyway. There we collect with a van or a smaller truck.
From the Randstad through Germany to the Czech Republic
Towards Prague the truck takes either the A1 via Amersfoort and Hengelo to the Oldenzaal – Bad Bentheim crossing and on via Hanover, Magdeburg and Dresden, or the A2 via Utrecht and the A12 to Emmerich, joining the German A3 towards Frankfurt and Nuremberg. For Brno and Slovakia it continues on the D1. The Netherlands charges a truck toll, plus the German and Czech tolls – all included in your price. Germany bans trucks over 7.5 t on Sundays and public holidays from 0:00 to 22:00.
From one air cargo pallet to a full trailer
Schiphol shipments are often small and urgent – a van (about 5 pallets) or a larger van (around 10 pallets) is enough for a few pallets. From Aalsmeer and the food plants in Zaanstad we use a reefer. A full truck takes 33 euro pallets, 13.6 loading metres and about 24 t. EU goods travel without customs.
