Port, ferries and industrial zones of West Pomerania

  • Port of Szczecin on the Oder – steel products, paper, sawn timber and general cargo discharged from ships; loading at the quay or in port warehouses on advice.
  • Świnoujście – ferry terminal with sailings to Ystad and Trelleborg in Sweden, where Scandinavian cargo switches to the road.
  • Goleniów – industrial park by the airport with furniture and wooden component production.
  • Stargard – a car tyre plant and engineering works east of Szczecin.
  • Police – port and production zone on the Oder north of the city.
  • Warehouses along the A6 on Szczecin’s southern edge – distribution centres serving Poland and Germany, a few kilometres from the border.

Driving bansGermany: over 7.5 t on Sundays and public holidays 0:00–22:00Poland: restrictions over 12 t on public holidays and summer holiday weekends

We pick the route by delivery point and loading day: a truck loaded on Friday afternoon would sit out Sunday in Germany, whereas on the S3 it can usually keep going. Tolls on either route are always included in the price we quote.

Swedish cargo through the Świnoujście terminal

Ferries from Ystad and Trelleborg bring trailers and general cargo from Scandinavia into Świnoujście. Since 2023 a road tunnel under the Świna links both banks, so a truck leaving the terminal reaches the S3 without waiting for the town ferry. Sweden is in the EU – cargo arriving this way continues to the Czech Republic without customs, with commercial papers and a CMR note.

Furniture, tyres and steel from Pomerania

Furniture from Goleniów is light but bulky, so we price it by loading metre and protect carton corners from crushing. Tyres from Stargard travel loose-stacked in a closed trailer or in pallet racks. Steel and paper from the port go on a curtainsider that can be opened for crane loading. A full truck takes 33 euro pallets, 13.6 loading metres and about 24 t; for smaller volumes we arrange a van for around 5 or 10 pallets or groupage from 1 pallet. We deliver anywhere in the Czech Republic and Slovakia.

What to include when you request a Szczecin pick-up

  1. The exact loading point – port quay, Świnoujście terminal, warehouse or factory.
  2. For ferry cargo, the shipment reference and the ship’s arrival day.
  3. Pallets or loading metres, weight and whether the goods stack.
  4. Destination and deadline – this decides between the Berlin route and the S3.

You get the quote within 30 minutes in office hours, and the vehicle is usually arranged within 24 hours of confirmation.

Frequently asked questions

Does a truck from Szczecin to Prague go via Berlin?
Usually yes – on the A6, A11 and A13 past Dresden it is about 500 km to Prague. For eastern Bohemia and Moravia the Polish S3 expressway is often the better choice.
How many days does Szczecin–Brno freight take?
Brno is about 700 km away, so the driver needs a mandatory rest on the way. Goods are unloaded 1–2 days after loading, typically on day two.
What does the German Sunday ban mean for a Friday loading in Szczecin?
Trucks over 7.5 t may not drive in Germany on Sundays from 0:00 to 22:00. We either plan delivery for Monday or send the truck along the S3 through Poland.
Can you collect cargo arriving by ferry in Świnoujście?
Yes, at the ferry terminal or the adjoining warehouse. Goods from Sweden are EU goods, so they travel on to the Czech Republic without customs procedures.
Do you load directly in the port of Szczecin?
Yes. Port warehouses need the vehicle announced in advance; after confirmation we send the registration number, and we need your shipment reference.
Can you move furniture from the factories in Goleniów?
Yes. Boxed furniture takes a lot of space for little weight, so we price it by loading metre and secure the cartons against crushing.
How do you ship tyres from Stargard?
Loose-stacked in a closed trailer or in pallet racks, as the shipper prefers. Tell us the number of tyres and their size.
Is the German toll included when the truck goes via Berlin?
Yes. The Polish e-TOLL to the border, the German truck toll on the A11, A13 and A17 and the Czech toll are all part of the quoted price.
Which way does the S3 route enter the Czech Republic?
Along the S3 via Gorzów Wielkopolski and Zielona Góra to Legnica and through the Lubawka – Královec crossing to Trutnov. From there it continues to Hradec Králové and on to Moravia.
Can you deliver from Szczecin to Slovakia?
Yes, for example to Žilina or Bratislava. The truck runs along the S3 and through Moravia, and a drop in the Czech Republic can be added on the way.
Can the Szczecin truck pick up a second consignment in Berlin?
Yes. Berlin lies right on the German route to Prague, so a second loading adds very little to the trip.
Is groupage enough for two pallets from Szczecin?
Yes, groupage takes consignments from 1 pallet. If it is urgent, we arrange a smaller van that drives straight to the delivery address.
How do Polish summer weekends restrict driving on the S3?
On summer holiday weekends and public holidays, trucks over 12 t face restrictions in Poland. We compare the Polish and German bans and choose the route where the truck won't have to stand.
Do you take steel products discharged from ships in Szczecin?
Yes, on a curtainsider that opens from the top for crane loading. Heavy bundles are strapped down and we watch the axle load distribution.
Can Czech goods be sent to the Świnoujście ferry and on to Sweden?
Yes. We deliver Czech goods to Szczecin or to the Świnoujście ferry terminal, from where they can continue to Sweden, and combine both directions into one round trip.
