We arrange freight from Pamplona and Navarre to the Czech Republic for automotive parts, machinery components and fresh or preserved vegetables – as full truckloads, part loads or groupage from a single pallet. Transit usually takes 3–4 days; by road it is about 1,850 km to Prague and about 2,050 km to Brno. We deliver anywhere in the Czech Republic and Slovakia.
What ships from Navarre to Czechia – and in which vehicle?
Navarre is a small region, but it sends three very different kinds of freight to Central Europe. Each needs a different vehicle and a different way of planning, so we always start by asking exactly where and what is being loaded.
| Area | Typical freight | Vehicle | Watch out for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Landaben and nearby estates in Pamplona | pressed and plastic parts, assemblies, spare parts | curtainsider or mega trailer | fixed delivery slot, returnable packaging |
| wind-energy manufacturers in Navarre | gearboxes, bearings, electrical parts; large parts separately | standard trailer, large parts on special vehicles | dimensions and weight in advance |
| the Ribera around Tudela | asparagus, artichokes, piquillo peppers | reefer trailer | unbroken cold chain |
| processors in the Ribera | vegetables in jars and tins | curtainsider | frost protection in winter |
| Estella, Tafalla, Alsasua | metalwork, machine parts, packaging | curtainsider, groupage | easy to combine with other shipments |
How do we plan parts deliveries from Landaben to Czech plants?
The Landaben industrial estate on the western edge of Pamplona is the centre of Navarre’s automotive industry, with many suppliers working in other estates around it. Parts go straight to the goods-in of plants in Czechia and Slovakia, where the agreed delivery slot is what counts. So we agree the arrival time with the consignee before loading and pre-advise the truck. Empty metal and plastic containers can be loaded after unloading and returned to Pamplona, ideally with another job heading to Spain. Because the route is long, it pays to combine several Navarre suppliers in one trailer: a full truck takes 33 euro pallets, 13.6 loading metres and about 24 t.
Wind-turbine components: pallet freight or abnormal load?
Smaller parts – gearboxes and bearings in crates, electrical equipment or fasteners on pallets – travel in a standard curtainsider, often as a part load or groupage. Large parts such as rotor blades, nacelles or tower sections are abnormal loads: they need a special vehicle and permits in every country on the route, so they take longer to prepare. In both cases we need exact dimensions, weight and the loading method (crane, forklift, side loading).
When does produce from the Ribera around Tudela ship, and at what temperature?
- Asparagus – spring season, fresh in a reefer without transhipment.
- Artichokes – harvested from late autumn to spring.
- Piquillo peppers – late summer and autumn, fresh and processed.
- Tins and jars – all year, no cooling needed, but protected from frost in winter so the glass does not crack.
The shipper sets the temperature. We do not combine fresh vegetables with parts or with goods needing a different regime; preserved food and industrial goods can share a trailer. Wine from Olite and other Navarre areas is subject to excise duty and travels with the appropriate excise document.
Does a truck from Pamplona go via Irún or via Zaragoza?
From Pamplona the A-15 runs via Irurtzun and the Leitzaran valley to the coast and the Irún – Hendaye crossing, about 90 km. In France the truck continues on the A63 to Bordeaux and then either via Paris and Metz or via Lyon and Mulhouse into Germany and via Nuremberg to Rozvadov. A pick-up in the Basque Country can be added on this route. Shipments from Tudela and southern Navarre can also go via Zaragoza and Catalonia to La Jonquera, depending on the delivery address and how full the truck is. Combining with Madrid is possible but means a detour south. Spanish toll sections, French péage and German and Czech tolls are included in the price. In France vehicles over 7.5 t may not run from Saturday 22:00 to Sunday 22:00 or on holidays; in Germany they are banned on Sundays and holidays from 0:00 to 22:00 – so we plan the weekend ahead. During the San Fermín festival in July the centre of Pamplona is closed; loadings on the industrial estates are usually not affected.
Incoterms, documents and your enquiry
If you buy EXW or FCA, you book the transport and we arrange it from the loading point in Navarre; under DAP the supplier organises it. EU goods travel without customs; a CMR consignment note plus delivery note or invoice is enough. General information is on our page about transport from Spain. For a quote, send us:
- the loading point (Landaben, Tudela, Estella …) and loading hours,
- number of pallets or the part’s dimensions, weight and, for food, the temperature,
- the loading reference, if the supplier issues one,
- the delivery address and slot in Czechia or Slovakia.
During office hours you get a price within 30 minutes, and after confirmation we usually arrange the vehicle within 24 hours. Since 2011 we have worked with more than 500 vetted contracted carriers.
Buying parts from Landaben every week? We agree a fixed loading day, an unloading slot and the return of empties – regular transport, or get in touch.
