What is the route from the Czech Republic to Estonia?

We reach Estonia through Poland and the Baltics along the Via Baltica. From the Czech Republic the route goes via Wrocław or Katowice to Warsaw, along the S8 to Białystok, across the border into Lithuania near Kaunas and via Riga in Latvia to Pärnu and Tallinn. Prague to Tallinn is about 1,700 km.

The whole route is overland and inside Schengen – no ferry and no customs checks. Typical transit is 2–3 days from loading; southern Estonia (Tartu, Pärnu) is reached a few hours earlier.

Where we go in Estonia – industrial centres

We most often head to these cities and industrial areas with manufacturing and automotive companies:

  • Tallinn – IT, port
  • Tartu – technology
  • Narva – industry, energy
  • Pärnu – timber, tourism

What do we transport to Estonia?

To Estonia we carry engineering products, building materials, glass, parts for electronics manufacturing and palletised consumer goods for warehouses in Tallinn. There are also frequent shipments for the port of Muuga, where goods continue to Finland.

On the long route to the Baltics it pays to combine loads – so single pallets for Estonia travel as part loads together with goods for Lithuania and Latvia.

Which tolls and rules apply in Estonia?

  • Tolls on the route: Poland charges the distance-based e-TOLL, Lithuania and Latvia use time-based vignettes. Estonia levies a time-based road usage fee on trucks over 3.5 t.
  • Driving ban: neither Estonia nor the other Baltic states have a weekend truck ban. Only the Polish bans on public holidays and in the summer season apply on the route.
  • Winter: in winter we plan for snow and frost – trucks run with winter equipment and we add a time buffer for deliveries to northern and eastern Estonia.
  • Currency: Estonia uses the euro, and goods within the EU travel without customs duty.

What do we transport from Estonia to the Czech Republic?

From Estonia to the Czech Republic we mainly carry wood products – prefabricated timber houses, windows, doors and furniture – as well as electronics and engineering parts. We load in Tallinn, Tartu, Pärnu and in smaller production towns in the countryside.

Which cities in Estonia do you serve?
Most often Tallinn, Tartu, Narva, Pärnu and other industrial centres – dozens of cities in total.
Can you arrange regular transport to Estonia, there and back?
Yes. We arrange regular transport to Estonia on fixed days and, if you like, there and back: the vehicle delivers your goods and loads the next consignment on the way back, such as returnable packaging or goods for your warehouse. The rate is agreed for a longer period.
How long does transport to Estonia take?
Transport to Estonia usually takes 2–3 days from loading, and we arrange a vehicle within 24 hours.
Which route does a truck take from the Czech Republic to Estonia?
The truck drives overland through Poland, Lithuania and Latvia on the Via Baltica – via Warsaw, Białystok, Kaunas and Riga to Pärnu and Tallinn. There is no ferry and no customs check on the way.
How many kilometres is it from Prague to Tallinn?
Prague to Tallinn is about 1,700 km by road, roughly 200 km less from Ostrava. Tartu and Pärnu are about 1,550–1,600 km away.
Which tolls apply on the way to Estonia?
On the way to Estonia you pass the Polish e-TOLL, time-based vignettes in Lithuania and Latvia and Estonia's time-based road usage fee for vehicles over 3.5 t. All charges are included in our quote.
Is there a weekend truck ban in Estonia?
No, neither Estonia nor Lithuania and Latvia have a weekend truck ban. Only the Polish bans on public holidays and in the summer season apply on the route, and we plan around them.
Do you deliver to the ports of Muuga or Paldiski?
Yes, we deliver goods to the ports of Muuga near Tallinn and Paldiski. If the goods continue by sea, we need the shipping line and the vessel's cargo cut-off in good time.
Can you route goods through Estonia on to Finland?
Yes, ferries from Tallinn reach Helsinki in about two hours. We use the Baltic route to Finland when it works out better than the ferry from Germany.
Do you deliver to Tartu and southern Estonia?
Yes, we serve Tartu, Viljandi, Võru and Pärnu regularly. Southern Estonia is closer to Latvia on the route, so shipments there are often delivered earlier than to Tallinn.
How does winter affect transport to Estonia?
Snow and frost below −15 °C are common in the Estonian winter. Trucks run with winter equipment and we add a time buffer in the winter months – frost-sensitive goods should be packed accordingly.
Do you carry frost-sensitive goods to Estonia?
Yes, for frost-sensitive goods (paints, adhesives, food) we arrange a temperature-controlled truck. Mention it in your enquiry – in winter it is needed on the route to Estonia.
Why does transport to Estonia take 2–3 days?
The route to Estonia is about 1,700 km and the driver must keep to breaks and rest periods. With one driver that means 2–3 days; an express run with two drivers is faster.
Do you carry single pallets to Estonia?
Yes, single pallets for Estonia travel as part loads with other Baltic shipments. Combining loads on the Lithuania–Latvia–Estonia route makes small volumes more economical.
Is Estonia in the eurozone and Schengen?
Yes, Estonia is a member of the EU, the eurozone and Schengen. Goods travel without customs duty or border checks – a CMR and commercial documents are enough.
Do you also carry goods from Estonia to the Czech Republic?
Yes, we handle imports from Estonia regularly – mostly timber houses, windows, doors, furniture and electronics. We load in Tallinn, Tartu, Pärnu and smaller towns and deliver anywhere in the Czech Republic.
