From Erfurt to Prague (about 360 km) a truck arrives within 1 day – a morning loading in Jena or at the Erfurter Kreuz often reaches Prague the same afternoon or evening.
Thuringia place by place: what is loaded where
| Place | What ships from here | Transport note |
|---|---|---|
| Jena | optics, photonics, measuring and medical instruments | shock-sensitive, no stacking, air-suspension trailer |
| Eisenach | car production and parts suppliers | returnable containers, loading in a fixed time slot |
| Erfurter Kreuz near Arnstadt | logistics and industrial park at the A4/A71 junction | large warehouses with docks, slot booking |
| Gera | engineering, warehouses on the A4 and A9 | heavy parts, strap lashing |
| Hermsdorf | technical ceramics | solid crates, interlayers, avoid knocks |
| Gotha, Weimar | smaller manufacturers and warehouses along the A4 | well suited to groupage from 1 pallet |
Which way to Prague, which way to Brno
Three sensible routes lead from Thuringia into the Czech Republic; we choose by delivery point and season:
- A4 via Dresden, A17 and D8 – motorway all the way through the Breitenau – Krásný Les crossing, the safe choice in winter and for Ústí, Prague and Brno.
- A4 and over the Ore Mountains to the D7 – through the Reitzenhain – Hora Svatého Šebestiána crossing to Chomutov and on the D7 to Prague; shorter, but in the mountains on an ordinary road with climbs.
- A9 and A93 via Hof – to the Schirnding – Pomezí nad Ohří crossing for Cheb and Karlovy Vary, or further on the A93 and A6 via Rozvadov for Plzeň.
Brno is about 560 km away, fastest via Prague and the D1; for Slovakia the truck continues on the D2 to Bratislava or the D1 to Žilina. German and Czech tolls for the whole route are included in the price. In Germany vehicles over 7.5 t may not drive on Sundays and public holidays from 0:00 to 22:00, and in Thuringia also on 31 October, Reformation Day.
Optics from Jena, parts from Eisenach, pallets from Erfurt
Precision instruments go in crates or cartons on pallets marked with arrows and "do not stack", in a closed vehicle. Car parts travel in returnable containers, and we take the empties back. A full truck takes 33 euro pallets, 13.6 loading metres and about 24 t; for smaller urgent shipments a van for about 5 or a larger van for about 10 pallets is enough. Goods from Thuringia are EU goods and travel without customs.
Your Thuringia request, step by step
- Give the loading point – at the Erfurter Kreuz also the time-slot number.
- State the number of pallets or crates, the weight and whether the goods are shock-sensitive.
- Add the delivery address in the Czech Republic or Slovakia and the date.
In office hours we reply within 30 minutes, and the vehicle is usually arranged within 24 hours of confirmation – on this short route often for the same or next day.
