What is the route from the Czech Republic to Croatia?

We reach Croatia by two routes. Via Austria and Slovenia the route runs from Brno through Vienna, Graz and Maribor to the Gruškovje–Macelj crossing and on to Zagreb – about 520 km in total. Via Hungary we take the M1 and M7 to the Letenye–Goričan crossing, which suits Varaždin, Čakovec and Slavonia.

From Prague it is about 680 km to Zagreb, around 780 km to Rijeka and over 1,000 km to Split. Croatia has been in Schengen since 2023, so there is no waiting at the borders. The shipment usually reaches the consignee 1–2 days after loading, a day later for Dalmatia.

Where we go in Croatia – industrial centres

We most often head to these cities and industrial areas with manufacturing and automotive companies:

  • Zagreb – production, logistics
  • Rijeka – port
  • Split – production, tourism
  • Osijek – food
  • Zadar – tourism, logistics
  • Slavonski Brod – engineering
  • Varaždin – textile, food

What do we transport to Croatia?

To Croatia we carry building materials, engineering products, glass, hotel and restaurant equipment for the coast and palletised goods for distribution centres around Zagreb. We also run regularly to the port of Rijeka.

On the coast and islands streets are narrow and access is restricted – for unloading in historic centres and on islands we choose a smaller truck and, where possible, a date outside the peak season.

Which tolls and rules apply in Croatia?

  • Tolls: Austria charges the GO-Maut, Slovenia DarsGo and Hungary HU-GO by distance. Croatian motorways are tolled by distance and are moving from toll plazas to a barrier-free electronic system.
  • Driving ban: in the summer tourist season Croatia restricts truck traffic at weekends on the main routes to the coast.
  • Islands: Krk is linked by a bridge; for other islands (Brač, Hvar, Korčula) the truck takes a ferry, which must be booked in summer.
  • Currency: Croatia has used the euro since 2023, and goods within the EU travel without customs duty.

What do we transport from Croatia to the Czech Republic?

From Croatia to the Czech Republic we carry food and drinks, timber and furniture, medicines, Dalmatian stone and goods from the port of Rijeka. We load in Zagreb, Varaždin, Koprivnica, Osijek, Rijeka and Split.

Frequently asked questions

Which cities in Croatia do you serve?
Most often Zagreb, Rijeka, Split, Osijek, Zadar and other industrial centres – dozens of cities in total.
Can you arrange regular transport to Croatia, there and back?
Yes. We arrange regular transport to Croatia on fixed days and, if you like, there and back: the vehicle delivers your goods and loads the next consignment on the way back, such as returnable packaging or goods for your warehouse. The rate is agreed for a longer period.
How long does transport to Croatia take?
Transport to Croatia usually takes 1–2 days from loading, and we arrange a vehicle within 24 hours.
Which route does a truck take from the Czech Republic to Croatia?
The truck drives via Austria and Slovenia (Vienna, Graz, Maribor) to Zagreb, or via Hungary and the Letenye–Goričan crossing. We choose the route by the unloading place.
How many kilometres is it from Brno to Zagreb?
Brno to Zagreb is about 520 km and Prague to Zagreb around 680 km. Rijeka is roughly 780 km from Prague and Split over 1,000 km.
Is Croatia in Schengen?
Yes, Croatia has been a Schengen member since 1 January 2023 and uses the euro. There is therefore no waiting at the borders with Slovenia and Hungary, and goods travel without customs duty.
Which tolls apply on the way to Croatia?
You pay the Austrian GO-Maut, the Slovenian DarsGo or the Hungarian HU-GO depending on the route, plus the Croatian distance-based motorway toll. Everything is included in our quote.
Is there a truck driving ban in Croatia?
In the summer tourist season Croatia restricts truck traffic at weekends on the main routes to the coast. In summer we therefore schedule coastal deliveries on weekdays.
Do you deliver to Croatian islands?
Yes, Krk is linked by a bridge, and we reach Brač, Hvar, Korčula and other islands by ferry. In summer the ferry must be booked, so we agree the date well ahead.
Do you serve the port of Rijeka?
Yes, we deliver goods for vessels to Rijeka and load containers there. We need the shipping line details and the cut-off in good time.
Do you deliver hotel equipment to the Croatian coast?
Yes, we deliver equipment for hotels, apartments and restaurants to the coast regularly, especially before the season. For narrow streets in town centres we use a smaller truck with a tail lift.
How fast does a shipment reach Croatia?
A shipment to Croatia usually reaches the consignee 1–2 days after loading. From South Moravia the truck is often in Zagreb by the evening of loading day; allow another day for Dalmatia.
Do you carry single pallets to Croatia?
Yes, single pallets for Croatia travel as part loads, often together with goods for Slovenia. We recommend a full truck for large volumes or a fixed date.
Do you go to Slavonia and Osijek?
Yes, we reach Osijek and Slavonia via Hungary, which is shorter from Moravia than via Zagreb. We mainly carry farm machinery and building materials there.
When is the best time to deliver to Dalmatia?
Ideally outside the July–August peak, when roads and ferries are overloaded. We recommend delivering hotel shipments in spring before the season starts.
Do you also carry goods from Croatia to the Czech Republic?
Yes, we handle imports from Croatia regularly – food, timber, furniture, medicines and stone. We load anywhere in Croatia and deliver across the Czech Republic and Slovakia.
