We carry building materials to the islands all year round. The truck is loaded in the Czech Republic, drives through Spain to Barcelona or Valencia, and from there a ferry continues to Palma, Ibiza or Mahón. Goods usually arrive in 4–5 days.
What we carry to the Balearics
- Sanitary ware and bathroom fittings — baths, shower enclosures, taps, furniture.
- Tiles, paving and stone — on pallets, including heavy loads up to 24 t.
- Windows, doors and glass walls — in stillages, secured for the sea leg of the journey.
- Insulation, plasterboard, profiles — bulky but light loads; loading metres count, not weight.
- Prefabricated elements and structures — oversize on request.
- Site machinery and tools — including machines on pallets.
Unloading on site
On the islands goods are often unloaded straight at the building site without a dock. We arrange a vehicle with a tail lift or crane unloading. Just tell us in advance what the site looks like and how much room there is to reverse — narrow streets in Palma or in the mountains of northern Mallorca are handled with a smaller vehicle.
Dates and season
Ferries sail daily, but space fills up before the summer. Hotel renovations in the Balearics take place off-season, from November to April, and the materials must be on site before the hotel opens. Planning the loading a week ahead makes it much easier to get the date you need.
| Destination | Usual transit |
|---|---|
| Palma de Mallorca | 4–5 days |
| Ibiza | 4–5 days |
| Mahón (Menorca) | 5 days |
Documents
The Balearics are part of the EU customs territory, so nothing needs clearing — unlike the Canary Islands. An invoice and a CMR consignment note are enough.
