What is the route from the Czech Republic to Spain?
We reach Spain through Germany and France. For Catalonia and the east coast the route runs via Nuremberg, Stuttgart, Mulhouse and Lyon, down the Rhône valley to Montpellier and across the Le Perthus–La Jonquera crossing to Barcelona – about 1,700 km from Prague. For Madrid, the Basque Country and the north we drive via Bordeaux and the Hendaye–Irún crossing; Madrid is around 2,250 km away.
Valencia is about 2,050 km from Prague and Andalusia over 2,600 km. According to our transit time overview we plan 3–4 days from loading; with two drivers it is faster.

We most often head to these cities and industrial areas with manufacturing and automotive companies:
- Madrid – production, logistics
- Barcelona – SEAT, chemicals
- Valencia – Ford, port
- Zaragoza – Opel/Stellantis
- Bilbao – steel, port
- Seville – aerospace
- Málaga – technology
- Vigo – Stellantis, port
- Valladolid – Renault
What do we transport to Spain?
To Spain we mainly carry parts and components for car plants in Catalonia, Navarre, Aragon, Valencia and Galicia, engineering products, glass, building materials and palletised goods for distribution centres around Madrid, Barcelona and Zaragoza.
On the long route to Spain it pays to fill the truck – smaller shipments are therefore combined as part loads, and for large volumes we recommend a two-driver crew.
Which tolls and rules apply in Spain?
- Tolls: Germany charges a distance-based toll and French motorways are tolled. In Spain most motorways (autovías) are free; only some sections are tolled (autopistas de peaje), for example in the Basque Country and Navarre.
- Driving ban: in France vehicles over 7.5 t may not drive from Saturday 22:00 to Sunday 22:00. In Spain restrictions are regional, mainly in Catalonia and the Basque Country at weekends and on holidays.
- Pyrenees: snow is possible on mountain sections and passes in winter, so winter equipment is on board as a precaution.
- Canary Islands: they are outside the EU tax territory – shipments there need customs documents.
