What is the route from the Czech Republic to Slovenia?

We reach Slovenia through Austria. From Brno the route runs via Mikulov and Vienna along the A2 to Graz and across the Spielfeld–Šentilj crossing to Maribor and Ljubljana – about 540 km in total. From Prague we drive via České Budějovice, Linz and the A9 Pyhrn motorway, about 660 km to Ljubljana.

For Upper Carniola (Gorenjska) and Jesenice the shorter way from Prague is through the Karawanken tunnel. All borders are inside Schengen and the shipment usually reaches the consignee 1–2 days after loading.

Where we go in Slovenia – industrial centres

We most often head to these cities and industrial areas with manufacturing and automotive companies:

  • Ljubljana – Krka, Lek – pharma
  • Maribor – automotive
  • Koper – port
  • Celje – metallurgy
  • Kranj – electronics
  • Novo Mesto – Revoz (Renault)
  • Velenje – Gorenje

What do we transport to Slovenia?

To Slovenia we carry parts for car production in Novo mesto, components for household appliance makers in Velenje, engineering products, glass and building materials. There are also frequent shipments to the port of Koper, where goods continue by sea.

The Slovenian market is small and customers often order smaller quantities, so we run many part loads, combined with goods for Croatia.

Which tolls and rules apply in Slovenia?

  • Tolls: Austria charges the distance-based GO-Maut, Slovenia the electronic DarsGo system for vehicles over 3.5 t. The Karawanken tunnel is charged separately.
  • Driving ban: in Slovenia vehicles over 7.5 t may not drive during the day on Sundays and public holidays; Austria bans them from Saturday 15:00 to Sunday 22:00 and restricts night driving 22:00–05:00.
  • Winter: on Austrian and Slovenian mountain sections (Pyhrn, Karawanken) we drive with winter equipment and chains on board in winter.
  • Currency and customs: Slovenia uses the euro, and goods within the EU travel without customs duty.

Can you arrange regular transport to Slovenia, there and back?

How long does transport to Slovenia take?
Transport to Slovenia usually takes 1–2 days from loading, and we arrange a vehicle within 24 hours.
Which route does a truck take from the Czech Republic to Slovenia?
The truck drives through Austria – from Brno via Vienna and Graz to the Spielfeld–Šentilj crossing, from Prague via Linz and the Pyhrn motorway. For Upper Carniola it takes the Karawanken tunnel.
How many kilometres is it from Brno to Ljubljana?
Brno to Ljubljana is about 540 km and Prague to Ljubljana around 660 km. Maribor is about 410 km from Brno and the port of Koper roughly 770 km from Prague.
Which tolls apply on the way to Slovenia?

When are trucks banned from driving in Slovenia?
In Slovenia vehicles over 7.5 t may not drive during the day on Sundays and public holidays. On the route through Austria the weekend ban and night restrictions also apply, and we plan around them.
Do you serve the port of Koper?
Yes, Koper is Slovenia's only port and the main Adriatic gateway for Central Europe – we run to and from it regularly. For containers we need the shipping line details and cut-off in good time.
How fast does a shipment reach Slovenia?
A shipment to Slovenia usually reaches the consignee 1–2 days after loading. From South Moravia the truck is often in Maribor or Ljubljana by the evening of loading day or the next morning.
Do you deliver to Novo mesto and Velenje?
Yes, Novo mesto and Velenje are among Slovenia's main industrial centres, with car and household appliance production. We carry parts and components there and finished products back.
Can you combine shipments to Slovenia and Croatia?
Yes, Slovenia lies on the way to Croatia. We often combine part loads for Ljubljana and Maribor with goods for Zagreb or Rijeka, which makes smaller shipments cheaper.
Does a truck need winter equipment on the way to Slovenia?
Yes, on the mountain sections in Austria and Slovenia (Pyhrn, Karawanken) winter equipment is mandatory in winter and chains must be on board. For this route we arrange properly equipped trucks.
Do you carry medicines and medical supplies from Slovenia?
Yes, medicines and medical supplies travel in a temperature-controlled truck with temperature logging during the journey. State the required temperature range in your enquiry.
Do you carry single pallets to Slovenia?
Yes, single pallets for Slovenia travel as part loads. Thanks to combining with shipments for Croatia we run this direction regularly, even with small volumes.
Is transport to Slovenia free of customs duty?
Yes, Slovenia is in the EU, the eurozone and Schengen. Goods travel without customs duty or border checks; customs only applies to non-EU goods discharged in Koper.
Do you also carry goods from Slovenia to the Czech Republic?
