Domestic freight within the Czech Republic
Domestic transport means moving goods between two places inside the Czech Republic – from a factory to a warehouse, from a warehouse to customers, or between branches. We arrange it between any two points in the country, from Prague to Ostrava, Pilsen to Brno or Břeclav to Liberec, choosing a van, a rigid truck or an articulated truck to match the shipment.
For shippers based outside the Czech Republic
Many of our clients are based in Germany, Austria or elsewhere in Europe but have a warehouse, supplier or customers in the Czech Republic. We organise their distribution inside the country – a pallet from Prague to Ostrava, machinery from Pilsen to Brno or a full truck from a central warehouse to several branches – and handle all communication with the loading and delivery sites in Czech, English or German.
Distances and transit times
| Route | Distance | Usual delivery |
|---|---|---|
| Prague – Brno | approx. 205 km | same day |
| Brno – Ostrava | approx. 170 km | same day |
| Prague – Ostrava | approx. 370 km | same day by van, next day by truck |
| Pilsen – Ostrava | approx. 450 km | next day |
| Prague – Liberec | approx. 110 km | same day |
| Prague – České Budějovice | approx. 150 km | same day |
| Brno – Olomouc | approx. 80 km | same day |
Any place in the Czech Republic can be reached within one working day. Groupage shipments usually arrive within 24–48 hours; urgent goods travel direct by van.
Groupage (LTL) or a full vehicle (FTL)?
If your shipment does not fill a vehicle, groupage is the economical choice: your pallets share the truck with other shipments heading the same way and you pay for the space you use – a euro pallet takes 0.4 loading metres. From about 6–7 LDM or 5 tonnes a dedicated vehicle usually becomes cheaper and runs direct from loading to delivery without transhipment.
Vehicles
| Vehicle | Euro pallets | Payload |
|---|---|---|
| Box van | up to 5 | approx. 1 t |
| Curtain-sided van | up to 10 | approx. 1.3 t |
| Rigid truck 7.5–12 t | 15–18 | up to approx. 6 t |
| Articulated truck, 13.6 m trailer | 33 | up to approx. 24 t |
Vehicles with a tail lift are available for sites without a loading dock, and vehicles with a loading crane for heavy or bulky items.
Tolls and driving bans in the Czech Republic
Vehicles over 3.5 t pay an electronic distance-based toll on motorways and selected first-class roads; vans up to 3.5 t need the electronic vignette. Both are included in our price. Vehicles over 7.5 t may not drive on Sundays and public holidays from 13:00 to 22:00, and in July and August also on Fridays 17:00–21:00 and Saturdays 07:00–13:00 – see the driving ban calendar. We plan loading and delivery so that goods do not stand over the weekend.
Documents for domestic transport
A CMR consignment note is only required for international carriage. Within the Czech Republic a delivery note or a domestic consignment note is enough. On request we send you a scan of the signed proof of delivery straight after unloading.
Where we deliver most often
The logistics parks around Prague (Rudná, Jažlovice, Úžice), the industrial zones of Brno and Ostrava, the automotive locations of Mladá Boleslav, Kolín and Nošovice and the Borská pole zone in Pilsen. We have dedicated pages for 40 Czech cities, for example Prague, Brno, Ostrava, Pilsen and Liberec; pallet shipments by city are listed under pallet transport.
How the price is set
The price of domestic freight depends on the distance, vehicle type, weight and volume of the goods and extras such as a tail lift or an express run. The online calculator shows an indicative range and we send a binding quote within 30 minutes. For regular shipments we agree fixed loading days and rates for a longer period.
